Courtyard Sanctuary

Harvest 8m Urban

Project Brief

This project required the efficient use of space to create a courtyard sanctuary at Sanctuary Point. The brief included provision of:

  • a pool zone featuring the 8m Urban courtyard pool
  • Outdoor eating area
  • utility zone for clothes lines

The existing boundary fence was non-compliance; this was corrected using hardwood slat screen extensions to the existing Colourbond fence.

Frameless glass fencing is used along the edge of the existing entertainment patio. Existing hardwood steps were moved to the newly paved outdoor dining area which also included a decorative paving feature using Trojan edge unfilled travertine, and new hardwood steps were build which lead to the pool area. Travertine paving is carried throughout the entire yard to create a seamless flow though the various zones. Frameless glass fencing is used along the patio area and aluminium pool fencing divides the pool area from the outdoor dining area to reduce costs.

The utility area for the clothes line is screen from the pool zone using a hardwood slat feature screen incorporating a raised planter box, faced with StackStone.  The raised planter boxes are also repeated along the boundary fences for planting which softens the extensive use of stone.
